Just open the package, serve with warm Galician bread and pour a glass of your favorite Spanish wine.
Beher makes its remarkable jamón in Guijuelo, a famous ham-producing town in the mountains of Salamanca. It boasts DOP Gijuelo certification that acknowledges its quality and traditional methods. Hams from Gijuelo are celebrated for an elegant, slightly sweet flavor and a delicate touch of salt as compared to other regions.
It all begins with 100% purebred Ibérico pigs roaming freely across the dehesa woodlands of Spain. They forage on grasses and herbs and, during the autumn montanera season, they feast on sweet acorns that give this exceptional ham its distinctive nutty flavor and beautiful marbling. Each jamón is then slowly cured for over 44 months using just salt and fresh mountain air. When Beher’s jamón masters declare the hams ready, they are hand-sliced for you to enjoy.
The Hernández family has been making exceptional jamón in Guijuelo since 1930. Today, the third generation continues the family tradition, combining decades of experience with a passion for quality.
And here's a little piece of history we love: the name Beher comes from the company's founder, Bernardo Hernández.
