Grilled Shrimp Wrapped in Serrano Ham Recipe

Receta de Gambas a la Parilla Envueltas en Jamón Serrano

25 minutes

4 servings

Like most great Spanish dishes, jamón wrapped shrimp is so simple yet so delicious, and one of our favorites! The Jamón Serrano crisps on the grill, and the salty ham contrasts beautifully with the rich flavor of the shrimp. The deep smoky taste of Pimentón de La Vera paprika adds the perfect touch. Be sure to grill at high heat so that the jamón will crisp without overcooking the shrimp.

How To Cook

Peel and devein the shrimp, leaving the tails on. Mix salt, pepper, pimentón de La Vera and olive oil, add the shrimp and toss to coat.

Wrap each shrimp with a piece of jamón about two inches long, and skewer the shrimp so the ham is held securely around the shrimp. Place the skewers over a high temperature grill and cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side, or until the shrimp are opaque and the jamón is crispy at the edges. Serve immediately.
