A Spanish nobleman, the Marques de Valdueza, produces this fine extra virgin olive oil that comes exclusively from the first pressing of olives grown on his family's estate.

Because he is producing a small quantity, the olives are pressed within an hour of picking. In addition to using the oil within the family, he has set aside a limited quantity for discerning customers.

The Marqués has fashioned an olive oil that includes many of the different varieties of olives grown at his estate. In addition to buttery Arbequina, tangy Picual, smooth and fruity Hojiblanca, which are common to many Spanish blends, he intermingles oil from his Morisca olives, which are unique to Extremadura, western Spain.

The harmonious combination of these four varieties gives his oil its unique style: excellent fragrance, a fresh fruity flavor, stability and a round, sweet flavor with just a hint of pepper.

His family estate "Perales de Miraflores" is near Merida, which was one of the farthermost provinces of the Roman Empire. In addition to strategic reasons, the Romans sought sites for their cities suitable for cultivating vines and olives. This oil has more than two thousand years of unbroken tradition behind it.
