Share the classic flavors of Spain's turrón candy. These delicious almond treats are packed in an attractive gift set. Serve with a glass of crisp white wine or a mug of freshly brewed coffee.
For hundreds of years the confectioners at Torrons Vicens have blended fresh roasted almonds and honey to create a candy that is celebrated across Spain. This set features four of the classics. Crunchy almond brittle is the most popular, packed with roasted almonds. Next is the soft bar of ground roasted almonds blended with mil flores honey. Third is the yema quemada (crème brûlée), a flame charred bar made of ground almonds and egg yolks. Last is crunchy guirlache turrón featuring roasted almonds glazed with a crunchy honey coating.
The master confectioners at Vicens make each bar of turrón by hand, much as they have since 1775. Torrons Vicens is based in the small village of Agramunt in Catalonia. The turrón candy of Agramunt is so special that it has protected status (PGI) to ensure top quality and preservation of the local traditions. Turrón with this status must follow strict methods and must be made in the village of Agramunt.
In 2016, Angel Velasco, the master turrón maker at Vicens, was awarded the title of “Best Pastry Chef in the World” at the prestigious Madrid Fusion food show.
