In our search for the most traditional and remarkable ceramics of Spain, we fell in love at first sight with both the town and makers of these unique dishes. Created in El Puente del Arzobispo within the Province of Toledo — which has been the heart of handmade ceramics for over a thousand years — we wound through beautiful, narrow streets lined with talented ceramic makers and artists. Their commitment to the preservation of quality, beauty and customary Spanish cooking tools is admirable, and the artisan who makes these particular dishes is one of our favorites.
